How fast should HCG double in early pregnancy?

In early pregnancy, HCG typically doubles every 48-72 hours when levels are below 1,200 mIU/mL. Between 1,200-6,000, doubling slows to 72-96 hours. Above 6,000, HCG may take over 96 hours to double. A single HCG value matters less than the pattern of rise over time.

Important Reminder

HCG values vary widely in normal pregnancies. A single slow rise doesn't determine pregnancy viability. Your healthcare provider will assess HCG trends alongside ultrasound findings to give you complete guidance. Try not to compare your numbers to others - every pregnancy is different.
